Career Outcomes

The JD/MBA is a specialised program designed for particular career outcomes where knowledge of both law and business is advantageous.  

Professionals with a JD/MBA qualification explore employment opportunities including:

• specialised areas of the law such as commercial and competition law
• in-house legal counsel roles that involve an understanding of the commercial and strategic contexts in which questions of law arise
• business and government roles including investment banking, management consulting, directorships and government policy and regulation

Career Services 

JD/MBA students have access to the careers advice of both Schools.  At Melbourne Business School students can receive targeted career advice, personal career coaching, access to job listings, networking opportunities and on-campus recruitment.  Further information on Melbourne Business School career services is available here.

2006 saw the establishment of the Law School's Careers Office and the appointment of a Legal Careers Consultant. Alumni

Graduates of the JD/MBA become members of the University of Melbourne, MBS and MLS alumni associations.  These groups offer access to local and international networking events, lifelong learning opportunities and links to business through sponsored events and activities.
